I once learned that I wasn't afraid of the monsters under my bed.

Not because they were not monsters,

but because they did not live under my bed.

They live in the labyrinth I call a mind.

I once learned I was not afraid of the dark,

But of where my psyche would wander.

Places much darker than that of my room.

I was once told that if I were to ever fall, to get up and try again.

But no one ever told me what to do when I never landed.

No one ever told me what to do when the monsters arise from their slumber,

using my memories as toys.

No one ever told me what to do when I find myself in the dark.

So I wander, I give off a radiance that hides the shadows.

But look into my eyes and you'll see the monsters playing inside...
